ALAN FRIEDMAN
Chairman & CEO, FBC Group
CEO, FBC Media India

Alan Friedman is also an award-winning international journalist and a television celebrity in Italy. Between 1994 and 2003, he served as Global Economics Editor of the International herald Tribune. From 1979 to 1993, he was with the Financial Times (FT) of London. He is well-known in global diplomatic and financial circles for his coverage of IMF/World Bank meetings, G-7 summits and the annual Davos World Economic Forum. In Italy he was the creator and host of Maastricht Italia, a European economics and current affairs program which in its four seasons on Italy’s RAI 3 attraced 1.5 million television viewers weekly. From 1998 to 2003 he served as Chairman of IHT television.

 

SAMIR GUPTA
Executive Director

Samir Gupta is one of the founder shareholders of FBC Media in India and is a member of the Board. He has been a film and television producer in the Indian media industry for the last 7 years working in close association with Sony, Star TV, Doordarshan and other major networks. He has his own film company Impact Films which produced the critically-acclaimed award-winning feature film Waisa Bhi Hota Hai (2003). He leverages his vast network of relationships across the television, film and corporate world, as well as in government and political circles, to strategically enhance and accelerate FBC India’s business development in its various areas of business.
Gupta also served as Producer for FBC India’s first production in IndiaLakme Fashion House.

 

SABA ALI
Head – FBC Media Services India

Saba Ali speaks fluent Italian and has a background in Economics and Business Studies with more than 14 years of experience in facilitating high-level Indo-Italian business and institutional relations. She was in charge of external relations for the Italian Ambassador at the Italian Embassy in New Delhi for 5 years starting in 1991, and in 1997 moved on to head her own consultancy through which she has handled complex projects in different industrial sectors, as well as films, media and lifestyle. She has an acute insight into the diversity and pace of the fast globalizing emerging Indian economy and the ability to effectively penetrate the Indian socio-economic and political environment.

 

SHASHANKA GHOSH
Head of Creative

Writer, Director, Producer, Film Maker, Advertising Guru … Shanshanka Ghosh has many adjectives to his personality. Shashanka has been associated with the media world for over 18 years. He was one of the key players to define and add character to the emerging face of the entertainment TV in India, having l aunched MTV India and then Channel [v],  where he worked as Creative Director and then as Dy. General Manager. Shashanka has won many international awards for his distinctive work. He directed Quick Gun Murugun, an iconic south Indian spoof of a western cowboy which is soon to be turned into a feature film. Subsequently he was associated with the launch of WorldSpace in India where he designed the content strategy of over 20 audio channels for the platform. Shashank wrote and directed a feature film called Waisa Bhi Hota Hai– part 2 which was screened at the Rain Dance London festival, and the Cinema India showcase of 6 films in 15 cities in the US, and won best film at the Florence River West film festival. The film is now being negotiated for release in Italy, and being considered for Europe.

Siddharth Bahuguna
Head of Programs

As Head of Programs, Siddharth is responsible for all the shows and formats that are created by FBC India. Siddharth has had a varied experience directing reality-based TV shows for a range of channels that include AXN, NGC, ZEE, Sony, Channel [v] and STAR One Siddharth specialised in marketing during his MBA from the University of Stirling, UK and went on to work with DCM Group and Energizer batteries before making a shift to the TV industry. He went on to establish himself as one of the leading reality show director with shows like LakmeFashion House, Pop Stars, Bollywood Dreams, Mission Everest and Extreme Dhamaka.

 

Sonia Chowdhry
Deputy Head of Programs

Sonia Chowdhry has over ten years of experience in television. She has developed, written, directed and produced a variety of programs for a range of broadcasters. She brings a rounded experience ranging across youth oriented, travel and studio-based multi-camera shoots where she has maintained creative, editorial and financial control of big productions. Sonia has worked with large broadcasters that include BBC, Star, Doordarshan and Nickelodeon. For BBC World Service Trust, Sonia directed the show called Haath se Haath Milaa.

 

Sumit Luthra
COO

Sumit Luthra, has 10 years of experience spread over the Hospitality, Technology, and Media & Entertainment industry. His last assignement was in the capacity of Chief Operating Officer of TVC Networks Ltd, a leading Indian Home Shopping Channel. Prior to that he had a 5-year tenure with Nimbus Communications Limited, one of the leading Indian production houses with interests in sports rights management and content production, television software production and syndication, motion picture production, as Associate Vice President - Corporate Strategy. A post graduate in Marketing Management, Sumit joined FBC Media Pvt. Ltd., India in December 2004 as its Chief Operating Officer.

 

Shivani Raina Ghosh
Business Head – Branded Content & Media Strategy

Shivani has almost 10 years of media planning and buying experience from the Indian advertising world. Having worked with home-grown Indian agencies (Mudra) as well as MNCs (Universal McCann & FCB - Lodestar) she brings valuable insight on the Indian consumer, Indian brands and Indian media. She has cross category experience with FMCGs (Nestle, Dabur & Amul), Consumer Durables (Samsung), Fashion & Lifestyle (L'Oréal, Garnier & Maybelline), public sector undertakings and Indian media houses (Zee Network).
