Dolce Vita

Overview

We dream about it. We imitate it. We’ve gotta have it. The Italian lifestyle.

What is it about Italy that we love so much? That's the question that our host puts forth as she introduces the program on location on the fashion boulevards of Rome and Milan before she takes us on an unforgettable journey behind the scenes of Italian fashion, design and food. This lavishly produced six-part series will have instant appeal to viewers who love the magic – and genius – that has made the Italian way of savoring life irresistible to so many people. Dolce Vita reveals the secrets behind the innovation that epitomizes some of Italy's most desirable brands.

We will meet the greatest names in Italian luxury, fashion names like Fendi, La Perla, Tod's, Ferré and Ferragamo, or design names like Flos, FontanaArte or Boffi. Each week we will hear from some of the leaders of luxury retailing, from the head of Neiman Marcus to the heads of Bergdorf Goodman or Saks Fifth Avenue. We will meet shoppers on Fifth Avenue and Rodeo Drive who have strong opinions about Italian lifestyle. We will, above all, meet the designers, the heads of family dynasties in Italian fashion and the craftsmen who make our dreams come alive. Dolce Vita, a series of six 30-minute shows, is available for broadcast from Sept. 2004.
