The Power of Flight in association with EADS, the European aerospace and defence consortium, was broadcast on CNBC in the United States and aired on the anniversary of the first maiden flight by the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
The hour-long documentary celebrated the Centennial of Flight and profiled international contributions to 100 years of winged adventure.
The documentary presented four chapters of flight: the past, the impact, the present and the future.
Full length feature segments were augmented by in-studio and satellite interviews with leading historians, aviators and CEOs from the airline industry.
The Power of Flight explored the motivation of early pioneers who crossed new boundaries and examined the technological developments over the past century.
The Power of Flight also looked at the current status of aviation and what the future will offer in terms of speed, comfort and technology.
